Meet Our Artist

Sonbeams is blessed to have a Christian young man - also homeschooled - drawing for us!! Matt Lawrence is this artist, and his first project for Sonbeams was creating our "My Daily Duties" charts for boys and girls. He also created the images you will find on our "ABC Bible Memory Verse Songs" CD.

His speciality is pencil portraits - which I might add are VERY good. He was born and raised in Virginia where he now resides drawing and painting from his barn-transformed-studio. Upon graduation, he earned a Commercial Art diploma from Penn Foster University, Scranton PA.

He continued his art education through the Brandywine School of Illustration in 2006. Most of his portrait commissions have come through private parties, but his clientele has also included Prince William Forest Park of Virginia, for which he illustrated their Junior Ranger booklet.

It was also his honor to have his artwork selected to aid in the decoration of the famed Official White House Christmas Tree. The completion of which consummated in his attending the White House Holiday Open House, where he along with artists from around the country were personally addressed by the Honorable First Lady, Laura Bush!
